2017 Sharing Time Theme: Choose the Right



 


     Song: “As a Child of God”
      Scripture: “Wherefore, men are free … to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men” (2 Nephi 2:27).
     
      Weeks 1 and 2: Agency is the gift to choose for ourselves.
      Week 3: In the premortal life, I chose to follow God’s plan.
      Week4: Jesus Christ created the earth as a place where I can learn to choose the right.

     Song: “Choose the Right”
      Scripture: “If ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you” (Mosiah 2:22).

     Week 1: Noah was blessed for choosing the right.
      Week 2: Jesus’s disciples were blessed by choosing the right.
      Week 3: Nephi was blessed for choosing the right.
      Week 4: Church members today are blessed for choosing the right. 
    
      Song: “Stand for the Right”
      Scripture: “O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God” (Alma 37:35).

      Week 1: God speaks through living prophets.
      Week 2: The First Presidency and the Twelve Apostles are prophets.
      Week 3: God’s prophets and apostles speak to us in general conference.
      Week 4: I am blessed when I choose to follow the prophet.

      Song: Your choice about Jesus Christ
      Scripture: “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I  have done to you” (John 13:15).

      Week 1: Jesus Christ is the perfect example for me.
      Weeks 2 and 3: Jesus Christ taught me the right way to live.
      Week 4: I feel my Savior’s love when I try to be like Jesus Christ.

     Song: “When I Am Baptized”
      Scripture: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).
     
      Week 1: As I repent, I can be forgiven.
      Week 2: When I am baptized and confirmed, I am following Jesus’s example.
      Week 3: The Holy Ghost can help me.
      Week 4: When I take the sacrament I renew my baptismal covenants.

     Song: “Nephi’s Courage”
      Scripture: “I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them” (! Nephi 3:7).

      Week 1: I pray to Heavenly Father for strength to do what is right.
      Week 2: When I pay my tithing, Heavenly Father will bless me.
      Week 3: I obey the Word of Wisdom by eating and drinking that which is good and avoiding that which is bad.
      Week 4: When I dress modesty, I respect my body as a gift from God.

      Song: “The Wise Man and the Foolish Man”
      Scripture: “Wherefore, let us be faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord” (1 Nephi 3:16).
     
      Week 1: Fasting and prayer can strengthen my testimony.
      Week 2: Being kind is doing and saying nice things to others.
      Week 3: Reverence is deep respect and love toward God.
      Week 4: Honesty is telling the truth regardless of the consequences.

      Song: “I’m Trying to Be like Jesus”
      Scripture: “If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after those things” (Articles of Faith 1:13).

      Week 1: Having good friends will help me choose the right.
      Week 2: I should read, listen to, and look at things that are pleasing to Heavenly Father.
      Weeks 3 and 4: I should do things on the Sabbath that will help me stay close to Heavenly Father.

     Scripture: “If thou lovest me thou shalt serve me and keep all my commandments” (D&C 42:29).

      Week 1: We are blessed when we keep the commandments.
      Week 2: I should respect and worship God.
      Week 3: I should honor my parents.
      Week 4: I should respect others.

     Scripture: “And also all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord” (D&C84:35).
     
      Week 1: Worthy young men receive the priesthood when they are 12 years old.
      Week 2: We receive the ordinances of salvation through the priesthood.
      Week 3: I can receive strengthening power through priesthood blessings.
      Week 4: I can go to the temple to receive ordinances for my ancestors when I am older.

     Scripture: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

      Week 1: I can be a missionary by serving others.
      Week 2: I can be a missionary by setting a good example.
      Week 3: I can teach my friends about Jesus Christ and His Church.
      Week 4: I can prepare now to serve a fulltime mission.

      Scripture: “Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, I am the life and the light of the world” (D&C 11:28).

      Week 1: Heavenly Father sent His Son to earth.
      Week 2: Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.
      Week 3: Jesus Christ is the light and the life of the world.
      Week 4: Joseph Smith saw and testified of Jesus Christ.

I'm a Stay-at-Home mom, busy firefighter wife, start up rancher and computer lover. I have three wonderful, extra special kids. My sweet kids have ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism. In order for me to be able to keep up with my firefighter's schedule, the kids' activities and their special lessons I have taken up bullet journaling.
